- Record the whole combination: Write down material, joint, consumables, gas, machine values, and technique - not one number by itself.
- Change one item: Use the adjustment log to change one variable at a time and note the result.
- Keep reviewed records: transfer a reviewed setup to the compact setup card. Verify it against the applicable procedure, machine instructions and current job conditions before reuse.
